Copyright Policy

What may and may not be copied, printed and shared from Heralds to Hearts.

Last updated: 5 October 2026

Resources to use and share

We want Heralds to Hearts resources to help people open Scripture and teach it faithfully. You may use, download, print, copy, display and share our original teaching resources free of charge for non-commercial purposes. You may also adapt or translate them, provided you give attribution and follow the conditions below.

Copyright and other rights in the website and its resources belong to Heralds to Hearts or the respective rights holders. We grant permission only for material we are entitled to license. Rights not granted here remain reserved.

What this permission covers

The permission applies worldwide to original Heralds to Hearts lesson text, articles, lesson plan material, worksheets and teaching illustrations made available on this website, unless a resource carries a different rights notice. It includes sharing copies electronically or making them available on a non-commercial website with the required credit.

Personal study, family discipleship, free church teaching and other non-commercial educational use are welcome. The fact that a teacher or ministry worker receives a salary does not, by itself, make that teaching commercial.

This permission does not allow you to sell the resources, charge for access to them, or incorporate them into a product or service primarily intended for commercial advantage or monetary compensation. Contact us if you need commercial permission or are uncertain about your proposed use.

Give clear attribution

Keep the resource title, author credit where one is given, copyright notices and third-party acknowledgements. Credit Heralds to Hearts and include a link to the original resource, or its readable website address in a printed copy. Keep the date or version where supplied so readers can identify the source.

A suitable credit is: “Source: Heralds to Hearts, [resource title], [original resource address]. Used under the Heralds to Hearts Copyright Policy.” Replace the bracketed details with the actual title and address, and link to this policy when sharing online.

Attribution must be reasonably visible. It must not suggest that we endorse you, your organisation or the way you use the material.

Adaptations and translations

You may shorten, rearrange, adapt or translate covered resources for non-commercial use. Identify your changes clearly, name the person or organisation responsible for them, and keep a link or reference to the original. For example: “Adapted from Heralds to Hearts by [name]” or “Unofficial [language] translation by [name]”.

Do not describe your version as an official or approved Heralds to Hearts resource without our written agreement. You are responsible for the accuracy, suitability and safeguarding of your changes. Do not alter a Scripture quotation and present the altered wording as the quoted Bible translation.

Recipients must still be able to identify the original material and its rights notices. Our permission covers the rights we hold in the source; it does not clear other material you add or give you ownership of our underlying work.

Bible quotations and other third-party material

Bible translations, photographs, externally supplied artwork, fonts, extracts and other third-party material remain subject to their owners’ terms. Our non-commercial permission does not override those terms or allow you to extract and reuse those elements separately.

Christian Standard Bible quotations are subject to Holman Bible Publishers’ rights and permissions. Keep the translation identification and the full publisher acknowledgement supplied with a resource. If you change, extend, translate or republish quotations, check the relevant publisher’s current requirements and obtain permission where needed.

The inclusion of a photograph or other licensed item in a resource does not mean that we can authorise every later use of it. If rights are unclear, contact us before copying that element. A specific rights notice on a resource takes precedence over this general permission.

Our name, logos and website design

You may retain our name and logo as they appear in an unchanged resource and use our name in an accurate attribution. This does not grant permission to use our logos as your own branding, create the impression of a partnership, or label an adaptation as an official edition.

The resource permission does not grant a general licence to reproduce the website’s branding, design or source code. Software, fonts or other components supplied under a separate licence remain governed by that licence.

Permissions the law already gives you

This policy does not restrict uses permitted by applicable copyright law, including lawful fair dealing, quotation and applicable accessibility exceptions. You do not need our permission for a use the law independently permits.

The permission above is royalty-free and non-exclusive. It continues for copies obtained under this policy while you comply with its conditions. A later policy change will not retrospectively remove that permission. Uses outside these conditions require separate permission unless the law allows them.

Permission requests and copyright concerns

Email hello@heraldstohearts.org with the resource title or link, the material involved and how you would like to use it.

If you believe the website infringes your rights, identify the work, the relevant page or download, your interest in the rights and how we can contact you. We will review the concern and, where appropriate, correct, credit, restrict or remove the material. Please provide only the personal information needed to assess the matter.
