Heralds at Home

Equipping people to open God's Word and speak its truth with care in the conversations of home.

Bible teaching for the life of your home

We want children and adults to know the God revealed in Scripture, understand their need of Jesus Christ and learn to trust and follow Him. Parents and caregivers have a weighty privilege: to teach God's Word in the ordinary relationships of home, where questions can be asked, truths revisited and faith lived out. Heralds at Home helps you understand what you are teaching and speak with clarity, conviction and care.

The areas above offer different starting points. Guard Your Heart brings biblical truth and practical wisdom to questions about bodies, sexuality and life online. Genesis to Revelation follows the whole Bible, helping families see how its different books belong to the connected account of God's saving work in Christ. Little Ones at Home focuses on the youngest children, from age 2 through Grade R. Choose the area that serves the people learning with you.

Let God's Word teach you first

Begin with the passage and take time to understand it. What does it say in its setting? What does it reveal about God, about us and about His saving purpose? Understanding the reasons behind a biblical truth helps you explain it in your own words and respond thoughtfully when a child asks why. Bring your own questions, conduct and need of grace before God as you prepare.

In Guard Your Heart, the Overview helps you find your way through the lesson, and Foundation opens the passage for you as an adult learner before helping you lead the family conversation. Read, reflect and pray. You can learn alongside your children while taking responsibility for what you teach them.

Open the Bible together

Read the passage, explain its meaning and invite questions. Help those listening see where the teaching comes from in the text and how it speaks to their lives. Give them time to think and explain what they understand. If a question needs further study, say so and return to it together.

Each series has its own audience and approach. Guard Your Heart provides a shared Family conversation, with separate Going deeper material for older teenagers and adults. Genesis to Revelation is shaped around mixed-age families learning the Bible together. Follow the guidance for your chosen series and take account of each child's understanding and readiness. Sensitive conversations should leave room for questions without requiring anyone to share private experiences.

Carry the truth into daily life

Return to what you have read when it helps explain a choice, a worry, a friendship or a question. Pray together and look for an ordinary opportunity to put the truth into practice. Ask what the passage helps you understand about God and why that matters for the way you live.

Guard Your Heart gives each lesson one Practice to carry forward: an action, an agreement or a verse considered with its meaning. Make room to revisit it before moving on. Work at a pace that allows understanding to grow. These resources support your care and the teaching of your local church; we look to God to work through His Word, bringing faith, repentance and lasting growth.
