Terms & Conditions

The terms on which Heralds to Hearts resources are offered and used.

Last updated: 5 October 2026

About these terms

Heralds to Hearts, referred to here as “we”, “us” or “our”, is the publisher of this website, which is developed and maintained in South Africa. Contact us at hello@heraldstohearts.org.

These terms govern use of this website and the resources we make available. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy and Copyright Policy. Our permission to copy, share or adapt resources is subject to the Copyright Policy. If you do not accept these terms, please do not use the website or exercise that permission.

Purpose of the resources

Heralds to Hearts provides Christian teaching and discipleship resources for parents, caregivers, teachers and other adults. Our theological approach is described on the About us page.

Resources support preparation and teaching. They do not replace personal pastoral care, professional counselling, medical or legal advice, safeguarding procedures or the responsibilities of a parent, caregiver, teacher or church. Use suitable qualified help where a situation calls for it.

Adults using a resource with children are responsible for considering its suitability for the children and setting involved, providing appropriate supervision and following applicable safeguarding procedures. Do not use any resource to demand private disclosure or to delay seeking help for someone at risk. Our contact address is for website and resource enquiries, not an emergency service.

Using and sharing resources

You may use, copy, share, adapt and translate the material covered by our Copyright Policy for non-commercial purposes, with attribution and the other safeguards set out there. Separate notices may apply to Bible translations, photographs and other third-party content.

You must not misrepresent an altered resource as our original work or imply that we have approved your teaching, organisation, translation or adaptation. Permission to use resources does not create a partnership, agency relationship or accreditation.

Responsible use of the website

Please use the website lawfully and respect other people’s rights. Do not attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its security or operation, introduce malicious software, impersonate someone else, or use our contact details to send unlawful, abusive or unsolicited promotional material.

Do not remove copyright notices or use our name or branding in a misleading way. We may take reasonable steps to block abusive traffic or protect the site. Any response will remain subject to applicable law.

Accuracy, availability and changes

We take care with our resources, but errors and omissions may occur. Check Bible references and important factual information, and contact us if something needs correcting. A plan or catalogue entry is not a promise that every listed lesson is available. Where a resource is identified as a draft or development preview, treat it accordingly.

We may correct, update, replace or remove material. We do not promise that the website will always be available, free from technical errors or suitable for every individual circumstance. Keep a copy of any resource you need, within the permissions granted. Changes to website availability do not retrospectively withdraw permission already granted for a downloaded resource used in accordance with the applicable licence.

External websites and communications

Links to other websites are provided for context or convenience. Those websites have their own content, terms and privacy practices. A link does not mean that we endorse everything on that website or that another organisation endorses Heralds to Hearts.

If you send corrections or suggestions, please send only material you are entitled to share. An enquiry does not transfer ownership of your work to us or give us permission to publish your name, private story or correspondence.

Your rights and our responsibility

Nothing in these terms removes a right or remedy that applicable law does not allow us to exclude, including rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 where those Acts apply.

We do not exclude responsibility for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Responsibility for a loss or dispute will be determined under applicable law. These terms do not require you to indemnify us for our own wrongdoing.

South African law and disputes

South African law governs these terms, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. A dispute may be brought before a South African court with jurisdiction or another court, tribunal or regulator available to you under applicable law.

You are welcome to contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Doing so is not a condition for exercising a statutory right, approaching a regulator or seeking urgent relief. If a provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

Updates to these terms

We may update these terms and will show the revised date on this page. Changes apply prospectively, subject to any notice or agreement required by law. They do not retrospectively remove accrued rights or change an existing resource licence.
