Following Jesus

How should I respond to God?

Because Jesus is my King, I want to obey him.

By the end of this plan, your child will have explored who Jesus is and what following Him looks like in ordinary life. The lessons begin with His welcome of children and sinners, His death and resurrection, and His authority as the King we listen to and trust. From there, you will have considered loving God, hearing His Word, praying for help, giving thanks and singing true words about Him. Nehemiah's prayer and Boaz's kindness to Ruth offer concrete accounts of asking God for help and using what we have generously.

Together you will have practised ways to respond: obeying parents in what is right, telling the truth, using helpful words, sharing and serving. Your child will have heard why we all need Jesus' forgiveness, how to admit wrongdoing and put things right where we can, and why we forgive rather than get even. The final lessons explore the Holy Spirit's help, kindness to neighbours, prayer for others and sharing the good news. Revelation's gathered worshippers and Jesus' promise to return connect these everyday responses with Christian hope. We follow Him in dependence on His grace while we wait.
