In the Beginning · Lesson 2 · Luke 24:44–49
The risen Jesus helps His followers understand the Scriptures as a connected witness to His suffering, resurrection and the offer of forgiveness. This gives the whole journey its direction from the beginning.

Foundation · For the adult. Allow 15–20 minutes total to read the main passage, learn and reflect through Foundation, and review the family flow. Context and leading help are supplied.
Family conversation · Roughly five to fifteen together. Allow 10–15 minutes for the whole meeting, including Scripture, recall, explanation, choosing Practice and prayer. You need a Bible and time to listen; independent reading or writing is unnecessary.
Going deeper · Optional, by readiness. Allow a separate 5–10 minutes to explore Luke 24:25–27 and the same truth more closely. Allow up to five extra adult-preparation minutes when choosing this route.
Practice: retell the good news. At one ordinary moment, retell the three connected parts: Jesus suffered for sinners, rose again and offers forgiveness as we turn to Him. Use your own words together. Carry one focus into ordinary life and return briefly to its meaning.

Jesus has died and risen bodily. He is with His followers, helping them understand the Scriptures and the message they will take to others.
A short recap is supplied in the conversation. Younger help supports the shared questions; older learners can explain reasons without acting as assistant teachers. Pause for worthwhile questions and continue at the family’s pace.
